
Virtual Cybersecurity Summit: Midwest US 2021
As a U.S. Congresswoman, Rep. Robin Kelly of Illinois was the main force behind the bipartisan IoT Cybersecurity Improvement Act, which was signed into law late last year. The law addresses the supply chain risk to the federal government stemming from insecure IoT devices by establishing minimum security requirements for procurement of connected devices. Kelly joins us in a keynote interview where she discusses: telehealth security, bolstering federal defenses, and the long-term impact of SolarWinds on supply-chain security.

Patrick Hogan
Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge, Chicago Cyber Fraud Task Force, U.S. Secret Service
Patrick Hogan is the Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge of the Secret Service's Chicago Electronic Crimes Task Force. He manages a squad of special agents and task force officers involved in the investigation of cybercrimes occurring within the Chicago area. He has been involved in cyber investigations for the last six years while in the Chicago Field Office. Prior to being in the Chicago Field Office, Hogan was involved in the coordination of national and transnational cybercrime investigations at the headquarters level. His Secret Service career has also given him the opportunity to protect former-Vice President Dick Cheney and to be detailed to the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Homeland Security.

Siva Balu
VP & CIO, YMCA of the USA
Siva Balu is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer at YMCA OF THE USA. In this role, he is working to rethink the work of Y-USA’s information technology strategy to meet the changing needs of Y-USA and YMCAs throughout the country. YMCA of the USA is the national resource office for the nation's YMCAs. The Y is the leading nonprofit in 10,000 communities across the nation delivering positive change through 2,700 YMCAs focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Siva is the creator of the new Y Cloud digital platform to deliver digital, virtual and mobile products to members across the nation. Y Cloud is the world's first digital platform built for non-profits by non-profit. As the CIO, Siva works with the key stakeholders across the nation’s YMCAs in achieving the strategic vision. He leads the creation and execution of the technology strategy through collaboration and thought leadership including digital transformation, data strategy, cloud strategy, information security, project management, mobile apps, social media, CRM, data warehouses & business intelligence, IT infrastructure & operations to support the YMCA movement. Prior to his current role, Siva has 20 years of healthcare technology experience in leadership roles for Blue Cross Blue Shield, the nation's largest health insurer, which provides healthcare to over 107 million members—1 in 3 Americans. He most recently led the Enterprise Information Technology team at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. He has created several highly scalable innovative solutions that cater to the needs of members and patients throughout the country in all communities. He provided leadership in creating innovative solutions and adopting new technologies for national and international users. Siva earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from Bharathiar University in India, a master’s in business administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and executive master’s degrees from Harvard and MIT in Innovation, Strategy and Artificial Intelligence.

Arjun Kolady
Security Solutions Engineer, HackerOne
Arjun Kolady is a security solutions engineer at HackerOne. His professional experience began as a sales associate at Encube Consulting, where he had the opportunity to learn how businesses think, and what technical buyers look for in a development team. From there, he transitioned to a developer role at Symantec. As an application owner, responsibilities included following security by design processes (peer code reviews, architectural approval boards, QA testing, disaster recovery, etc). As a solutions engineer at HackerOne, he combines experience from both roles in his day-to-day from executing technical pre-sales conversations to helping establish hacker-powered security programs that work for Security and Dev teams.

Jason G Weiss
Retired FBI Special Agent; Counsel, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath
Weiss leverages his past career as an FBI supervisory special agent and digital laboratory director permanently assigned to the cybersecurity and computer forensics branch with more than 22 years of decorated service. He assists clients with critical issues associated with cybersecurity incident preparedness and response, compliance with the U.S. Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and other information governance laws and requirements, data analytics, investigations and e-discovery. He also works extensively with clients to ensure compliance with various National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) cybersecurity standards and frameworks. He was an internal FBI ISO auditor for more than 10 years.

Lewis serves on the advisory boards for several firms. He is currently enrolled in a graduate program at Harvard University. Brian Kelley

Brian Kelley is the Chief Technology Officer for the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission where he is working on the toll modernization project and future technology on the road – autonomous & connected vehicles, EVs, solar, and smart mobility. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology and a Master Degree in Public Administration from Kent State University. He is a graduate of the Certified Government Chief Information Officer Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Brian teaches public online public administration graduate courses and undergraduate criminal justice courses at Kent State University. Brian was recognized as one of Government Technology’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers in Public Sector Innovation in 2012 and he received the Ohio Government Finance Officer’s Association Innovation in Public Finance Award in 2011. Fred Kwong

Fred Kwong is currently the CISO for Delta Dental Plans Association. He is a highly recognized thought leader in security and is often asked to speak and chair at national/international security conferences. Fred serves on several advisory boards and is often asked to consult on matters of security and leadership. He currently holds the CISSP, CISA, CISM, PMP and CDPSE certifications.

Robin Kelly
Congresswoman, Illinois
Congresswoman Robin Kelly has dedicated her career to public service as an advocate for Illinois families. A staunch champion of common sense gun reforms and responsible community policing, Representative Kelly is a Co-Chair of the Congressional Gun Violence Prevention Taskforce and is the author of The 2014 Kelly Report on Gun Violence in America, the first-ever Congressional analysis of the nation's gun violence epidemic that offers a blueprint for ending the crisis. Committed to improving the health and wellness of vulnerable communities across the country, the Congresswoman serves as the Vice Chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, and Co-Chairs the Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls. She also Co-Chairs the House Democratic Policy Group and House Tech Accountability Caucus. Prior to her election to Congress, Kelly was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, served as Chief Administrative Officer of Cook County (the second largest county in the United States) and was Chief of Staff to Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias - becoming the first African American woman to serve as Chief of Staff to an elected constitutional statewide officeholder. The daughter of a small business owner and postal worker, Congresswoman Kelly moved to Illinois to attend Bradley University in Peoria, where she earned her B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in counseling. She later received a Ph.D. in political science from Northern Illinois University. She lives in Matteson with her husband, Dr. Nathaniel Horn, and has two adult children, Kelly and Ryan.

John Bloomer
