As CISO, Adam sets RBC’s cyber vision, strategy and program to reduce cyber risks and keep clients, employees, and systems safe. Kush Sharma
Founder & Principal Sharma & Company, former CISO, City of Toronto
As the City of Toronto's first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Kush Sharma is accountable for setting the City’s information security strategy, governance, risk, compliance and cyber functions, reporting functionally to the City Manager. Kush works collaboratively with the City’s Senior Leadership Team and the City Clerk's Office to mitigate cyber risk. He also works in partnership with the City’s Agencies & Corporations and advises City Council on matters of information security. Kush leads the Office of the CISO, the City's newest division, which was established to oversee Cyber Diplomacy & Governance, Threat Management, Digital Trust, Business Application Resilience, Urban Technology Protection, and Digital Forensics & Investigations. Kush has 20 years of public and private sector experience, and is well respected within the industry. He has a strong reputation as a trusted advisor, known for innovation, partnerships, and service delivery. Kush also has broader leadership experience in various industry sectors, technology, change management, and business transformation. During his prior tenure as a Management Consultant, Kush had a global 50+ client portfolio advising leaders at some of the world’s largest organizations and government entities in developing and maturing their governance, risk and compliance postures. Ireen Birungi

Ireen Birungi is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Interac Corp., where she leads the technology and business security strategy and implementation. This includes operationalizing enterprise-wide cybersecurity program that supports continuous improvement; managing security risks and compliance with business, client, legislative and regulatory requirements; reporting and containing security incidents and breaches; identity and access management and privilege access management; and monitoring threats and taking preventative measures. Ireen has over 20 years of experience helping organizations excel in the areas of cybersecurity, risk and vulnerability management and IT architecture in a variety of industries across and Public, Private and Consulting sector. She began her career in the security operations centre for a major Canadian bank, managing processes around network devices and systems, administering cryptographic keys for ABMs and conducting vulnerability assessments on varying technologies. She then progressed to senior roles in governance, risk management and compliance providing consulting advisory services, including recommendations for improving security posture to a number of clients in the healthcare sector and telecommunications and ultimately ending back in operations, where she led the establishment of a cybersecurity operations centre for a major engineering organization. Nicole Ford
CISO and VP, Carrier
Nicole Darden Ford is an IT strategic leader with 20-plus years of success spanning the federal government and corporate venues. Nicole has extensive knowledge and application experience in cybersecurity, cyber forensics and homeland security practices. In her current role as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for Carrier, she oversees global Information Security and Product (IoT) Cybersecurity. Prior to joining Carrier, Nicole was Vice President of Information Security and Chief Information Security Officer for Baxter International where she had global responsibility for Information Security, Information Governance and IT Quality Compliance. She was also Director of Information Security for Venable LLP, an AMLAW 100 law firm. She began her career in the U.S. military and federal government, including the Jt. Chiefs of Staff, where she handled security, network engineering and telecommunications. Nicole has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix and a master’s degree in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia. She holds C|CISO, CISM, CEH and CISSP certifications. Nicole is an active corporate advocate for inclusion and diversity initiatives, women’s leadership and employee resource groups, including the Carrier Black Alliance. Eric Ward is assistant commissioner for strategic initiatives and external relations with the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario. Immediately prior to joining the IPC, Ward was the senior director at Policy Horizons Canada, the federal government's center for strategic foresight. His career with the Government of Canada also spanned law, policy and management. Ward practiced privacy and information law as counsel to Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada and as senior counsel at the Department of Justice's Center for Information and Privacy Law. He also directed machinery of government and legal operations teams at the Privy Council Office

Karim Rajwani
SVP, COO, Financial Crimes Risk Management, Scotiabank
Mr. Rajwani is currently the SVP, Chief Operating Officer at Scotiabank, leading the bank’s Financial Crime remediation activities including transaction monitoring, screening, investigations and intelligence activities. Mr. Rajwani also has global responsibility for AML Threat Intelligence, as well as the Strategic Planning, Project Management Office and the AML Solution Delivery. Mr. Rajwani was previously the AML Advisor at various Fintech firms and Major Financial Institutions. Prior to that was he was the Global Head of Financial Crime Investigations and Intelligence, the Global Head of Financial Crime Technology Strategy, and the UK Money Laundering Reporting Officer at Deutsche Bank. In this role Mr. Rajwani was also responsible for the AML remediation program in response to regulatory actions as well as major client investigations. Mr. Rajwani was the Chief Anti-Money Laundering for the RBC Financial Group (RBC), where he oversaw the design, implementation and the day to day management of the Anti Money Laundering, Sanctions, Anti Bribery and Corruption and High Risk Client Management) Programs for more than 15 years. In addition, he was responsible for the AML Compliance, Investigations and Data Science teams globally. Mr. Rajwani has 40 years of risk management, compliance, audit and financial accounting experience. Mr. Rajwani was also a member of the Advisory Council on National Security for the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada between 2009 and 2012. He created and the Co-Chaired the Canadian Chapter of the Association of Certified Anti Money Specialists (ACAMS) and is a member of the Advisory Board of ACAMS, The Knoble and the Anti Human Trafficking Intelligence Initiative. In addition to his risk management experience, Mr. Rajwani is a Chartered Accountant both in Canada as well as the UK and has worked for various Financial Institutions, Chartered Accounting and Management Consulting firms. In these roles, he has overseen the implementation of a number of enterprise-wide risk management and compliance initiatives.
