In August 2019, the Federal Reserve announced its decision to build the FedNowSM Service, a 24x7x365 real-time gross settlement service for instant payments. This represents history in the making by helping achieve the industry objective for ubiquitous faster payments in the United States. In our summit keynote, Connie Theien, Senior Vice President of Industry Relations, will discuss the latest developments in building the FedNow Service, how industry stakeholders are informing the process, and how the Fed will continue to prioritize fraud mitigation and payments security in an instant world.

Jelena Zelenovic Matone

Jelena is a respected and leading CISO who was awarded the CISO of the year for 2019 in Luxembourg. She is a versatile and innovative Cybersecurity professional with emphasis on cyber security risk management, policies and procedures creation, IT/IS security, IT Operations, audit, risk mitigation, business process improvement and IT governance.
Prior to her current role at EIB, Jelena served as the Senior Operational Risk and ISO for the European Stability Mechanism, the crisis resolution mechanism for euro area countries. The ESM issues debt instruments in order to finance loans and other forms of financial assistance to euro area Member States. Earlier in her career, Jelena managed IT Audit and Compliance for Sobey's, one of the two national grocery retailers in Canada and Audit, Corporate Development, M&A and growth strategies and IT Audit for George Weston, one of the Canada's largest publicly traded food processing and distribution companies.

Gerald Beuchelt
CISO, LogMeIn
Gerald Beuchelt is the Chief Information Security Officer at LogMeIn. He is responsible for the company's overall security, compliance, and technical privacy program. With more than 20 years of experience working in information security, he is a member of the Board of Directors and the IT Sector Chief for the Boston Chapter of Infragard. In his prior role, Gerald was the Chief Security Officer for Demandware, a Salesforce Company. He holds a Master of Science degree in theoretical physics.

Kayla Williams
Director, Governance, Risk & Compliance, LogMeIn
Kayla is the Director of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) at LogMeIn. She is responsible for the development and implementation the information security policy framework, the security, compliance, and technical privacy risk management framework, streamlining the compliance function, and instituting a security and technical privacy governance steering committee. Prior to her work at LogMeIn, Kayla was a Senior Risk Manager for Computershare, US, a global financial services company, where she was responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of operational, financial, compliance, and IT risk. Kayla has a Master of Science in Management, concentrating in Project Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lasell University. She is a certified Governance, Risk, and Compliance Professional from the OCEG.

Julie Conroy
Head of Risk Insights and Advisory, Aite-Novarica Group
Conroy is research director for Aite-Novarica Group's Fraud & AML practice and covers fraud, data security, anti-money laundering, and compliance issues. Conroy brings to Aite Group more than a decade of hands-on product management experience working with financial institutions, payments processors, and risk management companies.

Stephen Scharf
Managing Director & Global Chief Security Officer, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation
Stephen Scharf is Chief Security Officer (CSO) at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. In this role he is responsible for centralizing and aligning the firm’s global information security, physical security, employee safety, and crisis/incident management functions, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach to risk management and resilience across the organization.
Stephen comes from Experian where he served as Global Chief Information Security Officer, accountable for the overall strategy, leadership and governance of Experian’s global information security, physical security and business continuity programs. Prior to that, Stephen was Global Chief Security Officer for Bloomberg, LP. and Managing Security Architect for security consulting firm @stake.

Jeff Schwartz
Vice President of North America Engineering, Checkpoint
Jeff Schwartz, CISSP, is vice president of North America engineering at Check Point. Schwartz manages all aspects of technical operations and resources for the company in the region, including a team of over 200 engineers across multidisciplinary fields. Throughout his 20-year career in cybersecurity, he has consulted, designed or overseen the implementation of large network security deployments within every major vertical throughout both the Fortune 500 and major government agencies.

Anthony Johnson

Anthony has served as the Global CISO and Managing Director for multiple Fortune 100 companies, where he led some of the largest, most complex cybersecurity programs in the world. In addition to advising emerging and startup companies, Anthony is currently a Managing Partner at Delve Risk, where he leads a practice focused on driving technology and risk management transformation.

Ran Shahor, Brigadier General (Ret.)

Ran Shahor is a Brigadier General (Ret.) who founded the leading edge Cyber Security program of the Israeli Defense Forces Intelligence branch and is considered one of the worlds top Cyber Security experts . After 27 years of military service, Shahor took upon himself multiple senior leadership roles in the private sector. Prior to co-founding HolistiCyber, he was the founder and the Co-CEO of Focal energy as well as Managing Partner of Star Ventures, a $1 billion global venture capital group. He started his career in the elite IDF special forces unit "Sayeret Matkal" which he also commanded.

Sam Curry
Chief Security Officer, Cybereason
Sam Curry is CSO at Cybereason and is a Visiting Fellow at the National Security Institute. Previously, Sam was CTO and CISO for Arbor Networks(NetScout) and was CSO and SVP R&D at Microstrategy in addition to senior, security roles at McAfee and CA. He spent 7 years at RSA (the Security Division of EMC, where he was a distinguished engineer and Fellow nominee) as Chief Technologist and SVP of Product. Sam also has over 20 patents in security from his time as a security architect, has been a leader in two successful startups and is a board member of the Cybersecurity Coalition, of SSH Communications and of Sequitur Labs (in the IoT security space) in addition to a number of advisor-ships across the security spectrum.

Jeff Williams

Jeff brings more than 20 years of security leadership experience as co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Contrast. He's very active in the DevSecOps community, recently authored the DZone DevSecOps cheat sheet, and speaks frequently on the topic at conferences like Velocity, DevSecCon, JenkinsWorld, AppSecEU, and more. Prior to Contrast, Jeff was co-founder and CEO of Aspect Security, a successful and innovative application security consulting company acquired by EY. Jeff is also a founder and major contributor to OWASP, where he served as Global Chairman for 9 years and created the OWASP Top 10, OWASP Enterprise Security API, OWASP Application Security Verification Standard, XSS Prevention Cheat Sheet, and many other widely adopted free and open projects. Jeff has a BA from Virginia, an MA from George Mason, and a JD from Georgetown.

Connie Theien
SVP, Industry Relations, Federal Reserve Financial Services
Connie Theien serves as the senior vice president of industry relations and leads efforts to engage payments stakeholders in advancing strategies for improving the U.S. payment system and in collaborating to encourage implementation and adoption of faster payments in the United States.
Theien leads stakeholder engagement by supporting various industry and Federal Reserve work groups and initiatives. She also leads the engagement strategy for the Fed Payments Improvement Community, a group that includes thousands of stakeholders from across the payments ecosystem, to improve the end-to-end speed, efficiency and security of payments in the country.
As part of the Federal Reserve's payments improvement leadership team, she established and managed the Faster and Secure Payments Task Forces, a coalition of 500+ stakeholders that worked from 2015-2018 to lay important groundwork for advancing payments speed and security.
In her tenure at the Federal Reserve, Theien established national marketing in 2004 and industry relations in 2013. Prior to coming to the Fed, she led marketing and public relations efforts for nonprofit, retail and academic organizations. Theien holds a B.A. in speech communication from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management.

Before Auth0, Andrew worked on a variety of security analytics products at Cisco. He loves learning about technology, information security, and identity, and turning that knowledge into positive outcomes for Auth0 customers.

Patrick Sullivan
CTO, Security Strategy, Akamai Technologies, Inc.
In his 15 years at Akamai, Patrick has held a number of leadership positions including leading the Enterprise Security Architect team. Patrick and his team work with customers when they come under attack and designs security architectures to protect them from threats. In the course of helping to fend off so many attacks, he has gained visibility into attacks targeting many of the top Enterprises. With his ability to see Security issues as a critical component of a client's business strategy, Patrick often speaks at security events and with clients around the world. Prior to Akamai, Patrick held various leadership positions at DISA, AT&T, Savvis, and Cable and Wireless.
