Threat Intelligence - What You Can Learn About Your Adversaries and What They Can Learn About You
Intelligence gathering is critical to mounting an effective defense. This session will look at intelligence gathering from both sides of the DMZ. There is a great deal of critical information available about your adversaries, their operations and activities but how can this best be effectively consumed? There is also a startling amount of readily available, "free" intelligence about you, your organization, its assets and infrastructure. Collection of this Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) is one of the first phases of adversarial reconnaissance. In this session we will answer such questions as:
- How can I create actionable threat intelligence from the wide variety of data sources available?
- How can threat information be shared and how will emerging threat information exchange mechanisms help us?
- How can Open Source Intelligence be gathered and utilized to limit your exposure as well as let you see what your adversaries know about you?
